Lynn Weddle Judkins' practice centers around business and commercial disputes throughout Missouri and Kansas state and federal courts. Her extensive knowledge and experience with contract claims, construction defect, mechanic's lien, and real estate issues has lead to a variety of successful results for her individual and corporate clientele. She has also successfully tried a number of cases for both plaintiffs and defendants, as well as handled arbitrations and mediations with the American Arbitration Association and other neutrals.
Lynn is one of the 2010 Super Lawyers' Rising Stars. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Kansas Association of Defense Counsel (KADC) and was previously a member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Women Lawyers for Greater Kansas City since 2006. That same year Lynn served as the co-advisor for the Missouri Bar's Leadership Academy following her completed term as an Academy graduate in 2005; she was one of only 11 attorneys selected from across the state of Missouri for this honor to continue the Missouri Bar's commitment to building its diversity.
Lynn frequently speaks on a number of legal and business topics and teaches continuing legal education courses on real estate, contract, and lien issues, as well as title insurance ethics. She recently authored an article on the changes in the federal electronic discovery rules that provided our clients with suggestions and information on document retention and policies.
Prior to joining the firm, Lynn worked in construction and surety litigation at another area law firm and also served as the judicial law clerk to the Hon. K. Preston Dean II, Jackson County, Missouri Circuit Court (now retired).
While in law school, Lynn was the managing editor of The Urban Lawyer law review, where she has been published twice. Lynn was also the student editor of the Journal of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers ("AAML"), which also published her comment in 1998. During this time, she competed as a member of UMKC's award-winning National ABA Negotiation Team and received one of the 1999 Tierra Farrow Awards for Outstanding Female Law Student at UMKC.
As a member of the Board of Directors for the Mid-America Games for the Disabled, Inc., Lynn has advised the leaders of this regional multi-sport event and qualifier for the U. S. Paralympics since 2001. She and her family also support several volunteer and leadership efforts with the King of Kings Lutheran Church and its Boy Scout Pack 303.
