Wm Clayton Crawford

Clay Crawford is an AV rated attorney (www.martindale.com) with substantial jury trial experience and appellate experience in state and federal courts throughout Missouri and Kansas. Since joining the firm, Clay has developed his practice in insurance litigation, the defense of personal injury claims, construction defect litigation, commercial disputes and general trial practice. Clay has earned the Super Lawyers designation in Missouri and Kansas and has been named one of "Best of the Bar" by the Kansas City Business Journal, "The Best Lawyers in Kansas City®" by Ingram's Magazine and "the Best Lawyers in America®" by U.S. News and World Report.

In addition to his trial practice, Clay has served as an ad junct professor of insurance law at the UMKC School of Law. He has been a frequent lecturer on the subjects of insurer extra-contractual liability, uninsured and underinsured motorist law and various other litigation-related topics. Clay is also a Director of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers.

Before joining the firm, Clay served as an officer of Employers Reinsurance Corporation, now part of Swiss Reinsurance Company.

Of Note

Clay appeared on the Dean's List each semester of his academic career. He was a multiple AmJur Award recipient in law school and was selected to the Order of the Bench & Robe after graduating in the top ten percent of his class. As an undergraduate, Clay was a University Scholar at the University of Missouri and a member of Beta Theta Pi.

Community Involvement

Clay and his wife, Elizabeth, are the proud parents of four children. Clay is active in his church, is a youth sports coach, and has served on the Board of Directors as Director for UCP of Kansas City, a charitable organization dedicated to providing housing and services to persons with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.
