Joe Roper has tried, as lead counsel, more than 50 personal injury, products liability, fraud, business tort, contract and insurance cases to verdict.  Joe's practice has included representation of corporate clients on a regional and national basis, as well as representation of individuals. 

OF NOTE
Joe Roper is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.  He has been selected by his peers to be included in "The Best Lawyers in America" since 2005.  He also has been included in The Kansas City Journal's "Best of the Bar" publication in the Litigation category each year since 2004.  He presently serves as the Legal Advisor to the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association Board of Directors.  He is a past President of the Western Missouri/ Eastern Kansas Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and currently serves as a member of the National Board of Directors of the American Board of Trial Advocates.  He is a past president of the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers. He has twice served on the faculty of the nationally recognized International Association of Defense Counsel's Trial Academy - in 2001 at the University of Colorado at Boulder and in 2007 at Stanford University School of Law. Joe has also established a practice as a mediator of civil litigation cases.  He successfully completed the mediation training offered by the Center for Dispute Resolution at the University of Missouri at Columbia.  This curriculum satisfies the requirements of Missouri Supreme Court Rule 17.04.  Joe is listed as an approved mediator with the 6th, 7th, 16th, 19th, 21st and 22nd Circuit Courts of Missouri, the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri and the United States District Court - District of Kansas.  Joe serves as the firm's Managing Partner.

COMMUNITY INVOLVMENT 
Joe is a member of the Managing Partners Committee of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, and serves as the firm's representative to the association in furthering the KCMBA Diversity Initiative.

Joe is a frequent speaker on a wide range of topics involving the trial of civil matters. He has served as a coach of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law's National Trial Advocacy Team, and has served as Chairman of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association's Mock Trial Committee. He is President of the Blue Hills East Homes Association.
